NATULIQUE Liquid Colours in Subiaco

Toning, glossing and blending with a liquid colour that adds shine and evens the tone without laying down a root line.

Tone and shine, without a root line

A liquid colour is not a watered-down permanent one. It is a different product doing a different job. Permanent colour is built to deposit and cover, which means it lays a solid line across your regrowth and commits you to chasing that line every four to six weeks. A liquid colour is built to tone, gloss and blend: it sits on the hair rather than blocking it out.

That makes it what we reach for when the goal is shine, evenness and softness rather than coverage. Brass pulled back out of a blonde, a faded mid-length brought back to life, greys blended so they read as brightness through the hair, or a first colour on hair that has never had any.

It is NATULIQUE throughout, on the same certified-organic-ingredient basis as the rest of the colour menu. Choosing the gentler option here does not mean settling for a lesser product on your scalp.

What's involved

The variations we offer within liquid colours, and what each one is for.

Toning

Pulling brass, gold or ash back where the colour has drifted since the last appointment. The most common reason people book it, and the quickest thing on the colour menu.

Gloss & shine refresh

A shine service between colour appointments. It evens the tone through the lengths and puts the light back into hair that has gone flat, without adding to what your hair is already carrying.

Grey blending

Worked through the hair rather than laid across the root, so the greys soften into what is around them. Nothing bands at the regrowth, so there is no line to touch up every four weeks.

A first colour

For hair that has never been coloured. You get tone and shine and nothing to grow out, so if you decide colour is not for you there is no line to live with afterwards.

No hard line
blended through the hair rather than banded at the root
6–10 weeks
a longer interval than a four-weekly regrowth
Tone & gloss
the same colour refreshes shine between appointments
Nothing to grow out
so a first colour commits you to nothing

Why a liquid colour is the gentler way in

Liquid Colours are the part of the NATULIQUE range we reach for most when the job is tone rather than coverage. They are built for toning, glossing and blending, and that difference is the whole point: they refresh and even out colour without creating the harsh regrowth line a permanent root application leaves behind.

That makes them a beautiful transition colour. If you are moving from full coverage towards your natural grey, or you are considering colour for the first time and are not ready to commit to the upkeep, this is the gentlest way in. You get tone, shine and evenness, and you keep your options open.

They run on the same low-tox, certified-organic-ingredient basis as the rest of the NATULIQUE line, so nothing about choosing the gentler option means settling for a worse product on your scalp. If you are unsure whether you want this or a full colour, book a consultation. We will show you the range and be straight about which one gets you what you actually asked for.

How we work

How the appointment runs

So you know what you are walking into, and roughly how long to allow.

  1. Consultation

We look at what your hair is doing now, where it has gone brassy or flat, how much grey there is and where it sits, and whether a liquid colour gets you what you are after or whether you want coverage.

  2. Patch test

If it is your first colour with us, a patch test at least 48 hours ahead. It takes two minutes and you can drop in any time we are open.

  3. Application

Mixed fresh and worked through, with the placement doing the work rather than being laid flat across the root. Organic coffee or a herbal tea while it processes.

  4. Finish & home care

Rinsed, dried and finished, then what to wash it with to hold the tone and a realistic interval before the next one.

Liquid Colours questions

The things people ask us most about this service.

What is the difference between a liquid colour and a permanent colour?

Permanent colour deposits and covers: it gives you a solid, uniform result and a root line to maintain every four to six weeks. A liquid colour tones, glosses and blends. It evens the colour and adds shine without laying down a solid root, so it grows out softly. If you want complete grey coverage, permanent is the right answer. If you want tone, shine and far less upkeep, this is.

Will it cover my greys?

It blends them rather than covering them, so they read as brightness and dimension through the hair instead of being painted out. That works beautifully up to roughly half grey. Past that it starts to look like a lighter version of what you already have, which some people love. We will be honest at consultation about what your hair will give you.

How long does it last?

Usually six to ten weeks. Because there is no hard line, going a little over does not leave you stuck the way an overdue regrowth does. Home care makes a real difference to how long the tone holds, and we will tell you what to wash it with.

Can I have it over colour that was done somewhere else?

Usually, and it is often the quickest way to fix a tone that has gone brassy or flat. Come in for a consultation first so we can see the hair and check its history: box colour and henna both change the plan.

I have never coloured my hair. Is a Liquid Colour a good place to start?

It is the gentlest place to start. It tones and glosses without committing you to a root line, so if you decide colour is not for you, there is nothing to grow out. A lot of first-time clients start here.
