Colour is the largest part of what we do, and it is the reason most people find us. If you have been colouring your hair for years and your scalp has started to object, whether that is the sting on application, the itch afterwards or the headache that follows you home, the colour itself is usually the culprit rather than your hair.

NATULIQUE is the line we reach for first: Scandinavian, family-owned, and built on certified organic and naturally derived ingredients. Alongside it we keep Pure: two low-tox colour lines with certified organic ingredients and a far shorter ingredient list than the salon standard. They are gentle enough that clients who had given up on colour altogether can usually come back to it, and they hold their tone through a Perth summer better than most people expect.

Everything from a straightforward regrowth through to a full colour correction happens in the same chair, with the same lines. We will tell you honestly at consultation what is achievable in one visit and what will need two.

What's involved

The variations we offer within low-tox colour, and what each one is for.

Regrowth & root colour

The maintenance appointment. We match to your existing colour and keep the join invisible, usually every four to six weeks depending on how fast you grow and how much grey you are covering.

Full colour

A complete change of tone, or a first colour on hair that has never been coloured. Includes a strand assessment so you can see the result on your own hair before we commit to it.

Foils & highlights

Full head, half head or a few around the face for brightness. Foils place colour precisely where it lifts your features rather than lightening the lot.

Speciality & corrective colour

Banding from box colour, brassy blondes, a previous job that has gone the wrong way. Slow, careful work that we always quote after seeing the hair in person.

What makes NATULIQUE different

Most permanent colour carries a long list of synthetic compounds, and it is that list rather than the colour itself behind the smell, the scalp irritation and a good deal of the long-term dryness that comes with years of colouring.

NATULIQUE build theirs the other way round. Their standard is a minimum of 98% naturally derived ingredients, with the oils and extracts drawn from certified organic farming, and they work to keep the synthetics down rather than simply within limits. The company puts the PPD in its own formula at a small fraction of the industry norm. No SLS, no parabens, no formaldehyde.

How we work

How the appointment runs

So you know what you are walking into, and roughly how long to allow.

Consultation

We look at your hair in natural light, talk through what you want and what your hair will actually do, and check the history: box colour, henna and old bleach all change the plan.
Patch & strand test

For a first colour with us, a patch test at least 48 hours ahead. A strand test on the day shows you the tone on your own hair before we mix a full head.
Application

Colour mixed fresh for you and applied section by section. Organic coffee or a herbal tea while you process.
Finish & home care

Rinse, treatment through the mid-lengths and a blow dry. We will tell you what to wash it with and roughly when to book the next one.

Low-Tox Colour questions

The things people ask us most about this service.

Will low-tox colour cover my greys properly?

Yes. Grey coverage is the most common thing we are asked about, and NATULIQUE guarantee full coverage, and it holds on resistant, wiry regrowth as well as anything conventional we have used. Coarse white hair sometimes needs a slightly longer development time, which we build into the appointment.

Can you fix colour done somewhere else?

Usually, but corrective work is the one service we will not quote over the phone. Come in for a consultation so we can see the hair, check its condition and be honest about whether it is one appointment or two. Rushing a correction is how hair breaks.

Do I need a patch test?

If it is your first colour with us, yes, at least 48 hours before your appointment. It takes two minutes and you can drop in any time we are open.

How often should I come back?

Regrowth is typically every four to six weeks, foils every eight to twelve. Balayage stretches furthest of all. We will give you a realistic interval for your hair rather than the shortest one.
